Riverside House is situated on a 411.9 m2 plot, approximately 1 km from the Han River, with one side facing the river and the other facing a park, offering open views in all directions. This is a key advantage that allowed AVA Architects to design a house fully connected with the surrounding natural landscape. This idea aligns with the investor’s desire for a modern home that also stays close to nature — an ideal space for relaxation after stressful working hours.

Riverside House comprises 4 floors with a total floor area of over 1,000 m2. To optimize views and connect the living space with nature, the main house and garden are elevated from the ground, allowing users to fully enjoy the external landscape. The basement accommodates functions such as a garage, maid’s room, storage, and laundry room, while the ground floor dedicates most of its space to the living room, kitchen, garden, fish pond, and a hallway connecting the front and back of the house.

House Facade\

The design concept of Riverside House is to create seamless integration between the user and the natural environment. All interior spaces are oriented outward to maximize natural light and ventilation. The bedrooms on the third floor are arranged around an inner courtyard, with corridors connecting the rooms to create an open and airy atmosphere. From every room and loggia, the homeowner can enjoy the stunning view of the Han River’s riverside landscape.

The facade of Riverside House is equipped with automatic rotating wooden louvers, integrated with a smart electrical system, allowing users to flexibly adjust the view, lighting, and airflow. These wooden louvers not only serve as decorative elements, lighting, and ventilation devices, but also make the living space more dynamic and interesting while ensuring the homeowner’s privacy.
